A tow-truck operator had the challenging task Wednesday afternoon of removing a car from an Elk Grove swimming pool after it crashed through a backyard fence.
Officer Christopher Trim, Elk Grove police spokesman, said a driver lost control of his car about 2:40 p.m. while eastbound on Stone Springs Drive. The sedan knocked down two stop signs, then crashed through a wooden fence into the backyard of a home at Stone Springs and Rainbow Falls Way. It landed in the swimming pool.
The driver was able to get out and was not injured, Trim said. No one was hurt.
The vehicle was submerged in the pool, and Trim said it took some maneuvering to extricate it.
