A West Sacramento man was arrested Wednesday as he was allegedly attempting to meet with a minor for the purpose of committing sexual acts, authorities say.
The arrest occurred as investigators with Yolo County and Sutter County district attorney’s offices participated in a joint online child sexual exploitation sting operation, according to a Yolo County District Attorney’s Office news release.
Nathaniel Tyler Bennington Sands, 36, of West Sacramento was arrested shortly after 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of Butte House Road in Yuba City. Authorities said he was arrested on probable cause that he attempted to communicate with a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts, that he attempted to commit a lewd act on a minor younger than 14, and that he attempted to arrange a meeting with the minor for purposes of committing a lewd act.
Sands is being held in the Sutter County Jail without bail.
