A woman was flown Wednesday by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center after suffering major injuries when she was ejected from a golf cart in the Lake Wildwood community in Nevada County.
The 46-year-old victim was riding with her husband in a golf cart along Sun Forest Drive around 7:05 p.m. when he accidentally engaged the parking brake while approaching the Foxtail Drive intersection, according to the Grass Valley-based CHP office. The cart came to an abrupt stop, and both the wife and husband were flung from the vehicle.
The woman suffered major injuries to her lower extremities and was taken by “life-flight” CHP helicopter to the Roseville hospital, according to the CHP. The man, 51, suffered minor to moderate cuts and bruises and declined transport to the hospital.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor, according to the CHP.
