An injured man was rescued after falling 20 feet into the South Yuba River near Highway 49 on Sunday morning, San Juan Fire Department officials said.
Rescue crews reached the man two miles upriver from Highway 49, said Shawn Olson, San Juan Fire Department spokesman. The man had traumatic injuries after landing on rocks near the river’s edge, a Nevada County Consolidated Fire Department press release said.
The man was transported by air to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Olson said. His condition was unknown on Sunday evening.
