A 34-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man whose body was found last month in a field by a work crew.
Detectives arrested Tavares Montez Watkins on suspicion of killing Boakai Konneh, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release.
On the morning of June 14, a Sheriff’s Work Project crew cleaning up trash in the 5100 block of Garden Highway found Konneh’s body in a field. Konneh suffered from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The Sheriff’s Department called in homicide detectives to investigate the case.
Watkins shot Konneh, whom he knew, after a disagreement, according to the release. It was unclear if he was shot where the body was found.
