A baby survived being left in a hot car Tuesday afternoon while her mother slept on the ground, according to Roseville police.
Officers and firefighters were called about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to check on the infant left inside the vehicle parked on Modessa Court. Paramedics transported the child to a hospital for treatment of heat sickness.
A police activity log said that the child’s mother was sleeping on the ground near the vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. She fought and threatened officers while being placed under arrest.
Stephanie Lynn Chiaratti, 43, was booked into Placer County jail on charges of willful cruelty to a child and resisting arrest.
