Police investigate Truckee woman’s death after bicycle collision

Truckee police are investigating the possibility that the death of a woman early Tuesday morning was related to a Monday night bicycle collision.

Police went to a home off Meadow Way about 5:14 a.m. regarding a 57-year-old woman who was thought to have died in her sleep. Zoe King of Truckee was pronounced dead at the home and, after a preliminary investigation, it was discovered that King had been involved the night before in an unreported bicycle collision on High Street, according to a Police Department news release. The collision, which occurred between about 10 and 10:30 pm., also involved King’s boyfriend, Jeremy Allen, police said. An unidentified motorist reportedly gave King and Allen a ride home following the collision.

The good Samaritans were described as a male and female in a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a van. As part of their investigation, police would like to identify the driver of the van and any other people who might have witnessed the collision or have related information.

Police said no foul play is suspected at this time and a thorough investigation is standard in such situations.

Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to call Sgt. Robert Womack at 530-550-2335, or email rwomack@townoftruckee.com.
