Fatal shooting at Sacramento motel under investigation

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting at a motel north of downtown.

Police received a report just before midnight Friday of a man who was shot at the Days Inn in the 200 block of Jibboom Street. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound inside a motel room. Sacramento Fire Department personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to a Police Department news release.

No suspects are in custody; detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident, according to the news release.

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
