A motorcyclist died Saturday after he was hit by a car in Elk Grove, according to the city’s Police Department.
Elk Grove police responded to reports of a motorcycle versus vehicle collision at Laguna Park Drive south of Laguna Boulevard about 11:14 a.m., said Officer Joaquin Farinha.
The collision happened as the motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man, was southbound on Laguna Park Drive. He was hit by a car traveling in the opposite direction and making a left turn into oncoming traffic into a Taco Bell parking lot, Farinha said.
The driver of the car was described as a 29-year-old woman driving a four-door sedan with two children inside the car.

Two bystanders treated the motorcyclist while emergency personnel reached the scene of the accident, Farinha said. The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries and later died.
The woman and two children in the car were also sent to the hospital, but did not report any injuries, he said.
An investigation of the collision is underway, Farinha said. The name of the motorcyclist has not been released. No arrests have been made.
