Two people are dead and two are injured after a two-car crash on Folsom Lake Crossing near Folsom-Auburn Road on Sunday evening, a Folsom police spokesman said.
Police spokesman Officer Donald Rowberry said each of the drivers had a passenger. Just after 5 p.m., the driver traveling west on Folsom Lake Crossing veered into the eastbound lane. That car’s driver and passenger were killed when their vehicle collided with the oncoming vehicle. The two people in the eastbound vehicle received moderate injuries and were taken to local hospitals. Both are expected to live, Rowberry said.
Further details on the crash were not available.
The first sign of the tragedy came shortly before 6 p.m. when the Folsom Police Department reported on Twitter that a major vehicle crash had occurred and that Folsom Lake Crossing would be closed in both directions. It has since reopened.
