Three victims identified in fatal Folsom crash over weekend

A third person has died from injuries suffered in a crash over the weekend on the Folsom Lake Crossing bridge.

She was identified as Diane Violet Schut, 70, of El Dorado Hills.

Folsom police said that about 5 p.m. Sunday, a motorist traveling west on Folsom Lake Crossing veered into the eastbound lane and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The two people in the car that crossed over the line died at the scene. They were identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Lorena Rico, 29, of Folsom and Casey Steven Marsullo, 35, of Sacramento.

Schut was one of two people in the eastbound vehicle, who were believed to have received moderate injuries and were taken to local hospitals. Schut died after being transported to the hospital.
