The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a Sloughhouse woman who died earlier this week in Ione when her car drifted over the center line and crashed.
Sandi McDonell, 61, died Monday following the head-on crash.
Ione police Chief Tracy Busby said that about 8 a.m. Monday, McDonell was driving eastbound on Highway 104 near the entrance to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection academy when her sedan crossed over the center line and hit an oncoming pickup.
It is unclear why she crossed over the center line. There was no braking of the vehicle before the crash, Busby said.
