Two men from Yuba City died in a crash over the weekend on Highway 99 near Elverta Road.
The crash occurred about 10:50 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP Officer Chad Hertzell said a Honda Accord collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser.
The Honda was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 south of Elverta Road when the vehicles crashed. The two people who were in the Honda died and were identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Jose Lopez Guzman, 21, and Eudoxio Medina Contreras, 25, both of Yuba City.
The male driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
