A Sacramento teenager’s prank-turned-promposal went off without a hitch, thanks to creativity, some convincing acting and a police officer.

The “production” kicks off in the Luther Burbank High School gym.

Sacramento police Officer Tracy Joseph removes student Eric Hardin from the gym, saying, “I’m so disappointed in you.”

Joseph continues: “Now I have to take you to juvenile hall. Are you serious?” Hardin plays along as a group of fellow students and friends follow, voicing concern and asking questions.

Upon reaching the police vehicle, Officer Joseph says, “The only way I’m going to release him though is on one condition ...”

Hardin pulls out a sign asking fellow student Marshae Jackson to prom and the group’s anxiety turns to happiness and excitement.

P.S.: She said yes!
