UC Davis received high marks in the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report.

The university ranked 41st overall in the magazine’s national universities category, tying for that spot with five other colleges.

Universities in the top 10 include Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Stanford and the University of Chicago. UC Berkeley ranked 20th.

Schools in the national universities category offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master’s and doctoral programs. In addition, the colleges produce groundbreaking research.

Sacramento State tied for 63rd in the separate regional university category. Regional universities provide a full range of undergraduate programs and some master’s degree programs but few doctoral programs, according to the magazine.
