College fairs on tap for students at Sacramento City Unified School District

The Sacramento City Unified School District is kicking off a series of events geared toward college-bound students.

The district will be holding its annual college fair next week at McClatchy High School with representatives from more than 70 colleges and universities. The fair is scheduled for Sept. 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the high school, 3066 Freeport Boulevard, Sacramento.

College representatives and counselors will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid and the application process. All students are welcome to attend.

On Sept. 25, Sacramento Charter High School, 2315 34th St., will host the annual U-CAN Conference for juniors and seniors interested in attending a historically black college or university.

Rounding out that week, on Sept. 26, is the Feria de Educación, a college fair event geared toward Latino families. The feria is hosted by California State University, Sacramento, and is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Union on campus, 6000 J St., Sacramento.
