The National Weather Service issued a “red flag warning” for high fire danger in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding areas Sunday due to warm weather, breezy conditions, low humidity and dry tinder.

Potential wind gusts of 15 to 30 miles per hour could cause rapid spread, should there be a fire, the weather service said. A red flag warning is also in place in large sections of Southern California.

CalFire reported it will have additional firefighters on duty,.

Temperatures in Sacramento will reach the mid 90s today, with local winds mild at about 5 miles per hour.
