Health care industry veteran to oversee Sacramento area Kaiser operations

Sandy Sharon, an El Dorado Hills resident and health-care industry veteran with 30 years of experience in hospital operations, administrative and managerial roles, has been named senior vice president and manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Sacramento-area operations.

She replaces Ron Groepper, who is now the senior vice president and area manager for greater San Francisco.

A registered nurse, Sharon, 59, has held multiple leadership roles in Kaiser’s Northern California region for nearly 20 years. Most recently, she was chief operating officer at the Roseville Medical Center, and has also served as the interim area manager and chief nursing officer.

Kaiser’s regional service area includes the 287-bed Sacramento Medical Center, and medical offices in Sacramento, Davis and Rancho Cordova.

Prior to joining Kaiser, Sharon worked at Sacramento-based Sutter Health in managerial and administrative roles for more than a decade. She holds both an undergraduate degree and master’s degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento.
