Sacramento’s homeless can access help at a special health and resources fair Friday at Southside Park.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., representatives from the organization Capital Region Connect will welcome the homeless, or nearly homeless, to sample a smorgasbord of services: from free lunches to counseling on housing resources.
Medical and behavioral health screenings will be offered, along with aid for veterans and assistance with social security and disability benefit resources. Blankets, shoes, haircuts, ID cards, legal services and pet care will be available as well.
Childcare is provided for people with toilet-trained children, said the Salvation Army, a sponsor of the event along with Sutter Health. Southside Park is located at 2115 6th Street at T Street.
