After nearly 40 years of being locked away in a sealed file in federal court in Sacramento, the full audio of Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme’s psychiatric examination is available for public listening on The Sacramento Bee’s website.
The audio is of a Sept. 21, 1975, psychiatric exam conducted on Fromme, then a 26-year-old woman who pointed a loaded Colt .45-caliber pistol at President Gerald R. Ford in Sacramento’s Capitol Park two weeks earlier. The 132-minute audio was released last month by U.S. District Judge Kimberly J. Mueller in response to a motion filed by The Bee.
The audio, as well as video released earlier of Ford testifying about the incident, is available at www.sacbee.com/history.
