Grabbing that grande nonfat vanilla latte in the morning is about to get much easier for Sacramento City College students and residents of the Land Park area.
The city planning commission will vote Thursday on a proposed Starbucks coffee shop – complete with a drive-thru window – on Sutterville Road, across from City College.
The 2,514-square-foot Starbucks would replace two vacant buildings about a block east of Land Park, along one of the area’s busiest thoroughfares. It would have outdoor seating and limited parking to promote bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
The planning commission has final say and will consider a special permit for the drive-thru window. City staff is recommending approval.
While an opponent could appeal the commission’s decision to the City Council, a city staff report said no opposition has emerged.
