The Sacramento Kings have launched a sign-up list for fans who want to secure season tickets in the new downtown arena. The list is for fans who do not currently have season tickets at Sleep Train Arena.
Team spokeswoman Laura Braden said more than 1,000 people signed up for the season ticket list in the first 12 hours after it was released on Monday. The team will begin this week contacting fans who have signed up.
Current season ticket holders will be given priority for seats in the new arena and do not have to sign up for the list.
Kings president Chris Granger has said the team expects to hit a self-imposed cap for season tickets at the new arena before the building opens for the 2016/17 NBA season. The team’s season ticket base has nearly doubled since the current ownership group took control in 2013, and the team’s average paid attendance this season was the highest since 2007.
