A storm-damaged section of Highway 16 in Yolo County has reopened following a weekslong closure.

The California Department of Transportation announced Monday that Highway 16 between Rumsey in Yolo County and the Highway 20 junction in Colusa County was reopened to traffic in both directions.

Multiple sections of Highway 16 in Yolo County were closed due to damage, including mudslides, caused by winter storms. Storms saturated the soil making some areas difficult to clear, according to Caltrans.
