Caltrans is reporting that Highway 50 at Echo Summit has been reopened.

The stretch of highway was closed earlier today because of avalanche near Frog Pond, south of the summit.

The slide was about six feet deep and 20 feet wide, according to Caltrans. The slide took over an hour to clear.
