A semi-truck’s trailer caught fire Sunday evening, blocking two lanes of northbound I-5 at Pocket/Meadowview Road in Sacramento and slowing post-Super Bowl traffic.
The fire erupted at around 6:45 p.m., with California Highway Patrol officers and Sacramento Fire Department personnel responding. The cause of the fire, which engulfed the trailer, was unknown, said Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Roberto Padilla.
Firefighters had knocked down the flames by about 7:15 p.m., with no injuries reported. Padilla said he did not know what the truck was carrying.
