JetBlue to fly nonstop from Sacramento to Boston this summer

JetBlue is adding nonstop flights between Sacramento and Boston, the airline said Wednesday.

The carrier will begin flying between the two cities beginning June 18. The flights will operate Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

It is the first time Boston has been available as a nonstop from Sacramento International Airport. Tickets go on sale Wednesday.

“We have been trying to get nonstop service to Boston for many years and are thrilled that JetBlue has decided to invest resources in this route,” said John Wheat, Sacramento County director of airports.

The flights to Boston depart at 9:40 p.m. from Sacramento International Airport.

The Sacramento flights are seasonal, running through Sept. 7.
