This doesn’t happen every day. A surveillance camera caught a small plane crashing in a parking lot in Plainville, Connecticut on Monday, September 11, 2017.
The Hartford Courant reported the single-engine Cessna trying to land at Robertson Field Airport when it veered and crashed into a tree in a nearby parking lot.
Pilot Manfred Forst, 80, was the only one on board, sustained minor injuries. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash.
David Thayer, of Southington, watched the plane crash right in front of his eyes.

"I was sitting down at the end of the parking lot here, looked up because I heard the plane,” he told News 3. “Saw it going directly across probably 200 yards from where I was sitting, knew it was going the wrong way obviously.”
Crews were looking into a small fuel leak after the plane went down,” News 3 reported.
