There was a lot of love for the Clintons – both Bill and Hillary – when the former president appeared at a get-out-the-vote rally for California Democrats at UC Davis on Wednesday.

A roaring welcome from the crowd turned into shouts of “We love you, Bill!” as Clinton took the podium, where he compared himself to “an old racehorse” who gets trotted out each election cycle, decried the the negative campaign ads funded by outside groups and urged Democrats to turn out to the polls next Tuesday.

Earlier, Rep. Ami Bera, D-Elk Grove, even got in a pitch for Hillary Clinton, who is widely expected to announce her own run for office next year. “I’m ready for that,” he quipped.
