Ohio Gov. John Kasich will address delegates at the California Republican Party’s spring convention, joining Ted Cruz at the gathering ahead of the state’s newly significant primary election, the party said Monday.

Kasich, who lags far behind Cruz and Donald Trump in the Republican Party’s presidential nominating contest, will speak at a dinner on April 29. Cruz will appear the following day.

California is likely to play a decisive role in the Republican nominating contest. Trump could amass the 1,237 delegates necessary to secure the nomination – or be denied that number – on the final day of voting on June 7, including in California.

Trump has also been invited to speak at the convention, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame.
