A man shot and killed over the weekend on West 11th Street was identified by authorities Monday as a 25-year-old Merced resident.

Victor Manuel Cati died at a regional hospital a short time after Merced police officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds, the Merced County Coroner’s Office told the Merced Sun-Star on Monday.

No arrests have been made. Capt. Tom Trindad said police had no new information to release.

Officers responded just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired and found Cati in the 100 block of West 11th Street, near I Street, police said. Paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead about one hour later, police said.
