A 4-year-old girl was flown to a hospital Tuesday evening after falling out of a second-story window, police said.
The girl’s condition was unknown, and police said she had no visible injuries.
The incident was reported at 7:41 p.m. at an apartment in the 1500 block of Newcastle Drive. Police said the girl was being baby-sat by her 16-year-old brother. The brother was in the kitchen with several other younger siblings.
A sister of the 4-year-old girl was outside the apartment, and saw the girl fall through the window of the apartment’s master bedroom. The child landed in the bark covering a flowerbed below the window. Police said the window had been left open and the child fell through the screen.

No child-safety mechanism had been used on the window, police said. The girl was flown to UC Davis Children’s Hospital, and police said they are looking into whether the incident involved child-endangerment issues.
