Crews are mopping up after controlling a grass fire Friday morning near the Capital City Freeway between E Street and Exposition Boulevard that slowed traffic more than an a hour.
The fire was reported at 9:53 a.m. Just after 11 a.m., all the freeway’s northbound lanes reopened, according to the California Highway Patrol. Traffic, however, remains backed up to T Street, the state Department of Transportation reports.
