The Detwiler Fire near Lake McClure in Mariposa County is threatening power lines south of the incident that serve Yosemite National Park, Cal Fire reports.
As of Tuesday night, the fire had grown to 25,000 acres and was 5 percent contained, according to Cal Fire. A list of evacuated areas, including the city of Mariposa and the Coulterville area, is listed below.
According to The Fresno Bee, at least one structure had been claimed by the fire, with another one damaged and 300 more threatened as the blaze continued to grow. The fire began shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday, growing to 11,000 acres in a little more than 24 hours.
The federal Bureau of Land Management announced Tuesday afternoon that it was temporarily closing its Merced River recreation sites due to the fire. Included are the Briceburg Visitor Center, as well as the McCabe Flat, Willow Placer and Railroad Flat campgrounds, according to a bureau news release.

Cal Fire announced that a community meeting that had been scheduled for Tuesday evening at Marirposa County High School in Mariposa would be postponed until Wednesday evening.
The fire, which is burning in the area of Detwiller and Hunters Valley roads two miles east of Lake McClure, has forced a host of evacuations around the Mariposa area as 780 firefighting personnel with 100 engines, 22 crews, 14 aircraft, five bulldozers and four water tenders are assigned to the blaze, the Fresno Bee reports.
The communities of Hunters Valley, Bear Valley and Hornitos continue to be threatened. Cal Fire reports.
Unfavorable weather conditions, ample fuel and steep terrain hampered firefighting efforts, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters on the ground as well as aircraft worked to contain and suppress the fire.
Highway 49 was closed north of Mariposa from Highway 140 to Highway 132 in Coulterville. Highway 140 was closed from that point to nine miles east of the Mariposa/Merced county line, The Fresno Bee reported
The Red Cross established evacuation shelters and shelters for small animals at the Evangelical Free Church, 50443 School Road, in Oakhurst, and at Cesar Chavez Junior High School, 161 Plainsburg Road, Planada.

City of Mariposa, Mount Bullion Ridge Road from HWY 49N to CYA Road; Old Toll Road between Corbett Creek Road and HWY 49N, including Corbert Creek Road.; Mount Gains Road to No.9 Road including No.9 Road; Mount Bullion Cut off Road and Agua Fria Road from HWY 49N to HWY 140; HWY 49N to Baxby Bridge to Agua Fria Road; Area known as Mount Bullion; HWY 49N from Mount Bullion Ridge Road to Old Toll Road; Pendola Garden Road from HWY 49N to Old Toll Road (Exit via Old Toll Road only)
