The Pier Fire has grown to more than 30,000 acres in an area near the Sequoia National Forest.

Started by a stolen car that was set on fire, the blaze has forced evacuation orders for Springville and other nearby communities. The fire is east of Porterville.

The wildfire’s danger and intensity was captured in a California National Guard video from a C-130J aircraft from the 146th Airlift Wing​. The plane is equipped with a Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System.

The National Guard is battling the Pier Fire along with firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service​.
