Fire crews worked quickly to rein in a brush fire in southern El Dorado that may have been sparked by lightning Thursday afternoon.
As of 7:45 p.m., the Buckaroo fire, burning in the area of Bucks Bar Circle and Buckaroo Trail near Somerset, was reported 35 percent contained with 25 acres burned.
The fire was reported about 4:50 p.m. Brice Bennett, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said the fire was burning in an area of grassy oak woodlands and crews initially had difficulty gaining access.
