Wragg fire flare-up near Lake Berryessa prompts evacuations

The Wragg fire near Lake Berryessa flared up about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, jumping the primary containment line and prompting new evacuations.

Robbie Richard, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said the fire jumped the primary containment line on the south end of the fire area, but was still within the secondary containment line.

Mandatory evacuations are in effect for the Mixed Canyon, Sky Ranch and Gates Canyon areas. Road closures include Mixed Canyon at Pleasant Valley, Sky Ranch from Mixed Canyon to Pleasant Valley, Gates Canyon to Pleasant Valley, Putah Creek at Pleasant Valley, and the east side of Vaca Valley Road at Pleasant Valley.

The fire has burned 6,591 acres since it began nearly a week ago, and it is 80 percent contained, according to Cal Fire. It has destroyed two outbuildings and damaged three outbuildings and a residence.
