A grass fire erupted in Yolo County off Highway 16 near the Cache Creek Casino Resort just after 4 p.m. Sunday, but no structures were threatened and the blaze is now 100 percent contained, according to Cal Fire officials.
“Historically, this area has burned a lot,” says Cal Fire spokesman Daniel Berlant.
About 300 acres burned, mostly old oak trees, but about 50 percent of it was contained by 6:30 p.m., Berlant said Sunday. The fire was 100 percent contained by the end of the day, according to Cal Fire’s website.
