Crews on Saturday night are battling the Alder Fire, which has burned 30 acres in the Eldorado National Forest, the U.S. Forest Service reports.
The wildfire started about 3 p.m. Saturday on the south side of Highway 50 in the vicinity of Sand Flat campground, the forest service reports. It is burning in heavy timber and steep terrain by Ice House Road between White Hall and Kyburz.
With helicopter and tanker support, firefighters have made good progress on the fire, which is 10 percent contained, the forest service reports.
