Moderate temperatures before weekend warm-up in Sacramento

Sacramento will see fair temperatures Wednesday, followed by near triple-digit temperatures over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Downtown Sacramento will hit 82 degrees on Wednesday before moving to 87 degrees on Thursday and into the 90s on Friday.

NWS forecaster Mike Smith said a high pressure system is moving into the region, which will push temperatures roughly 10 degrees above normal during the weekend.

“The Delta breeze is not real strong. That’s why we’re getting as warm as we are,” he said.

Here’s the seven-day forecast:

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 55. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Light southwest wind.

Thursday night: Clear, with a low around 56. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the morning.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 57.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 95.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 97.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 94.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
