While Sacramento enjoyed a beautiful day in the 70s and snow fell in the Sierra on Thursday, the forecast is for a quick warm-up this weekend.
Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows resort experienced the first flurries of the season on Thursday. The resort plans to open early, sometime between Nov. 11 and Nov. 18, weather permitting.
Last year, the resort had more than 41 feet of snowfall. Only the weather gods know what will happen this winter, but there’s little chance of more snow this weekend.
A high-pressure system over the West Coast is forecast to bring daytime highs of 5 to 10 degrees above normal in Northern California on the first weekend of autumn. The increase in temperatures begins Friday, when a high of 83 degrees is predicted for Sacramento.
