A cooling trend is expected to drop the high temperature in Sacramento 13 degrees on Thursday.

The high on Wednesday came in at 96 degrees in Sacramento as the city sweltered under the last day of a high-pressure system. The hint of a breeze began Wednesday night and continued into Thursday morning.

The Delta breeze sweeping into the valley on Thursday is expected to cool the area, resulting in a high of 83 degrees today. By Saturday, daytime highs in the region are predicted to be around 10 degrees below normal.
