A day of dry weather is expected to be followed by a prolonged period of light to moderate rain – a wet spell that could bring an inch of rain to Sacramento.
While Wednesday and Halloween are expected to be without rainfall, the next few days will feature plenty of rain clouds. October is shaping up as a very wet month.
Already, the Sacramento region has recorded 2.39 inches of rain for the month, including 0.19 of an inch that fell Tuesday. In a normal October, about an inch of rain falls in Sacramento.
Mostly sunny skies are forecast for Wednesday, but rain is likely in Sacramento on Thursday as the next wave of weather travels from the southwest and mixes with moisture from Hurricane Seymour off the tip of Baja California.

Showers could linger into the weekend. However, the system should shift to the east on Monday, a movement that would keep Halloween dry for trick-or-treaters.
