Clear skies and mild temperatures are expected as the weekend rolls in, capped by a cloudy Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
“Enjoy your Friday and Saturday because your Sunday isn’t going to be quite as nice,” said Mike Smith, a meteorologist for the weather service.
Temperatures are expected to hit the lower 70s Friday and Saturday, falling a few degrees higher than the normal 69 degrees for the Sacramento area.
The weather will begin to cool off by a few degrees Sunday, with a slight chance of light rain hitting northern Sacramento the night before or early that morning, Smith said.

High elevation areas above 8,000 feet in Northern California can expect to see snow by the end of the week, Smith said.
