Weather service issues fog warning

The National Weather Service has issued a fog warning in the Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto areas, urging drivers to use caution this morning.

Visibility is reported as less than a quarter mile at airports in Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto. The fog is expected to improve by 9 a.m. and give way to mostly sunny skies and a high of 75 degrees for Veterans Day.

The weekend will bring similar weather, with fog in the morning and partly cloudy skies Saturday and Sunday. Highs each day should be around 70 degrees.

Veterans Day: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Friday night: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Light and variable wind.

Saturday night: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Light northwest wind.

Sunday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Light northwest wind.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Tuesday night: A slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Wednesday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62.

Wednesday night: A slight chance of rain. Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.
