One more day of warm weather is expected before temperatures drop in Sacramento – possibly along with a few raindrops, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service is forecasting clear skies, light winds and some morning fog in the Sacramento region on Monday. The foggy morning conditions in some locations could obscure a supermoon.

After Monday, the NWS predicts that a cold low pressure system will bring clouds to the Sacramento Valley. A chance of rain is also forecast starting Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday.

The Gulf of Alaska spawned weather system will also carry cold air. From a predicted high of 72 on Monday, the daily maximum is projected to fall to 61 by Wednesday.

Snow levels in the Sierra Nevada are predicted to rapidly drop Tuesday night, according to the NWS. Snow could fall to about the 4,500-feet elevation level by Wednesday.

However, the NWS computers models suggest that only light snowfall will occur.
