After a couple of weeks of dry weather, rainclouds are on track to arrive Saturday, resulting in a wet Sacramento weekend.

While Friday is expected to remain sunny as high pressure remains in place over Northern California, a change in the weather is expected early Saturday. The National Weather Service is predicting moderate rain and mountain snow for most of the north state.

Perhaps a half-inch of rain could fall in Sacramento. The weekend rain will be the first precipitation since Nov. 1.

Along with the rainfall, conditions could be breezy. Gusts as high as 18 mph might blow on Saturday in Sacramento, which would hasten the fall of autumn leaves.

In the Sierra Nevada, tire chains are likely to be ordered for cars this weekend, according to the weather service. Several inches of mountain snow could fall.

After a skies clear on Tuesday, a chance of rain is predicted for Wednesday. However, the long-range forecast still calls for Thanksgiving to be mostly sunny.
