Sacramento warms up for weekend under lots of sunshine

Northern California will enjoy sunshine and warm days this weekend in advance of slight cooling next week, according to the National Weather Service.

A high temperature near 85 under clear skies is expected Friday in Sacramento, with a west northwest wind of 5 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said. The low will be near 50 degrees with calm wind in the evening.

Conditions and temperatures in Sacramento will be similar through Monday, before a slight chance of rain on Tuesday. The seven-day outlook, according to the weather service:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 50. West northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 51. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 50.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75.

Tuesday night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.

Wednesday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Thursday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
