Sacramento weather: Warm with a cooling trend

Most areas around Sacramento should experience a little cooling on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

However, temperatures are still expected to be above normal for mid-to-late April. The normal high for April 20 in Sacramento is 74 degrees. Forecasters say the afternoon high today could reach 82.

Sunday’s high was especially warm, some would say hot: 87 degrees.

As the week progresses, temperatures dip into the 70s. A slight chance of showers is forecast for Sacramento on Thursday.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 50. South southeast wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. South wind 6 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 77.

Thursday night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
