Cool weather this week as small storm heads for Sacramento

Sunny weather is expected for a couple of days before a rainy system is forecast to move into the Sacramento region.

The high on Tuesday is only expected to reach 73 degrees in Sacramento, which is much lower than the normal high for mid-May. The average high for May 12 in Sacramento is 80 degrees.

The cool, unsettled weather is expected to be accompanied by breezes that could reach 14 mph in Sacramento.

Temperatures are expected to be even cooler Wednesday and Thursday as a weather system enters Northern California. Along with the cool temperatures on Thursday, the National Weather Service is predicting a 50 percent chance of showers in Sacramento.
