Mild temperatures to start the week, but things will start heating up by Friday

A low pressure system will keep Sacramento-area daytime high temperatures in the mid-70s amid mostly sunny conditions through Thursday this week.

Expect cool overnight lows in the low 50s during that time. Winds will be from the south at about 10 miles per hour.

There is slight chance of showers on Thursday, with some precipitation expected in areas of the Sierra Nevada foothills.

Monday’s high will be 74 degrees, with a projected over night low of 51.

The National Weather Service expects temperatures to start warming on Friday, with highs rising into the low 80s over the three-day Memorial Day weekend holiday.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 72 and a 20 percent chance of rain.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52 and a 20 percent chance of rain.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 77.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52.
